simply decorated and new-fashioned room with a tea tray, had a very positive stay. the room was reasonably priced. that hotel was in a particularly good and magnificent location, in all areas that really matter for a holiday.

Excellent location in the city centre. Close to many restaurants and shopping. Modest breakfast included in room rate.
Not very modern, needed a good clean, especially the bathroom. The hotel was disappointing as it has such a good location. Free internet was advertised but when queried we were told to pay for it.

Location
Twin bed room extremely small. Continental breakfast served in room and the only space for the tray is the bed. Poor room maintenance - curtains detached from rail.

Couple looking for a good spot in town
Was really close to everything I needed, able to walk to the bus station easily and find various restaurants. The staff were friendly and helped me when I asked for some extra towels, a nice touch.
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but for the location, I'm willing to overlook some flaws.

Excellent location in the heart of Oxford. Variety of restaurants and transport at the door, sights just a short walk around the town. Very pleasant staff, were able to extend my stay and took care of my luggage after checkout till I caught bus direct to Heathrow. I would definitely go there again if I ever have the opportunity to return to Oxford.
No dislikes however there was simple decor and breakfast but very adequate. No lift however staff carried my bags up the stairs for me.

The location of the hotel is perfect, in the centre of Oxford so all the popular attractions are within reasonable walking distance, hotel is surrounded by numerous restaurants/pubs which was great. Reasonable price for the location as all other alternatives where either much more expensive or not located in the city centre. After reading some of the reviews I was a bit dubious about booking but decided to risk it anyway. The room was on the 1st floor facing the main street and whilst there was some expected noise (ie. traffic & saturday night clubbers) the noise was not unbearable. Room very was basic but clean & comfortable. Staff where friendly. Would recommend for short city break only.
The room whilst clean & unoffensive was in serious need of modernisation, for example the bedding and decor where very outdated. The bedside light and table lamp did not work & the small desk was unstable (although I did not report it). Would recommend for a short break but not for a long stay: People thinking of booking should be aware that 1) Hotel is on a busy main street, not an idyllic location so expect some noise 2) This is a very basic no frills hotel that I would stay in again ONLY due to the convenient location; if you are seeking a hotel above basic standard, this is not for you but if seeking alternative accommodation be prepared to pay a lot more or stay in a hotel outside of the city centre.

The hotel was very conveniently located and adequate for my purpose in visiting Oxford University. The receptionist was a very nice, polite and helpful person. I will, Deus Vult, be visiting Oxford again next year about the same time.

My room at back and on third floor was very quiet. Staff was especially nice and cooperative. Some choice of foods at breakfast. Very good location for airport bus, and tour bus. Will definately stay again.

perfect central base for exploring parks and museums
I stayed here for three nights and loved being just a short walk from both the Oxford Botanic Garden and the Radcliffe Camera, made for lovely strolls during my downtime, while the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
